I am originally from Vietnam. My family and I immigrated to the United States in 1975 when I was seven years old. I grew up in San Jose, California. In 2006 my husband and I relocated to Texas. We have two grown sons. Traveling is what I love to do. One of my favorite places to visit is Sydney, Australia. The beautiful, sunny beaches and the easy-going people make it a welcoming place to visit over and over again. I also enjoy going to the movies, cooking for family and friends, and frequenting book stores. A writer once wrote - "You are a unique moment in history. It is your uniqueness that makes you who you are. What are you going to do to deserve that uniqueness?" This is one of my favorite quotes. The message is quite simple and poignant - we are unique because of the talent(s) we possess. Do something useful and purposeful with your talent(s). Go out there and make a difference for the betterment of society - of humanity. As teachers this is what we do every day. We tirelessly teach, nurture, guide and inspire each child. I've always known that I wanted to be an educator since I was in the sixth grade. My teacher, Mr. Graf, was the kind of teacher whom you remember for a lifetime. He knew how to make learning fun, had a great sense of humor and truly cared about his students. He is my inspiration, and he is the reason I became a teacher. I began my teaching career in 1998. I have taught second, third, fourth grade GT and sixth grade. What I love most about my profession is seeing how far I can challenge and push my students to work to their fullest potential. They amaze me every time! And it is always so very gratifying to see how proud they are of their accomplishments. I also believe that every child needs to feel safe and nurtured in order to thrive. Teaching is my passion, and I am thrilled to be a part of this stellar school, Eanes Elementary!
